Holographic and dot sights do not actually project a beam directly on the target as a laser sight does. These units are typically used for close to mid range distances and are very effective in acquiring a moving target quickly. The holograhic units have one screen while the "dot" units are built using a tube-like construction. The "dot" sight will always be just a single illuminated dot with brightness (intensity) control. The "holgraphic" sights will typically have four images available--one of which one is a single "dot". The other three images are 1) dot with circle, 2) cross hair, and 3) combination dot, circle, & cross hair in one image.
The relative accuracy of these units are measured in Minutes of Angle or MOA. As a quick rule of thumb, one MOA (minute of Angle) means that the dot covers 1" at 100 yards and at 200 yards the dot covers approximately 2". A 3 MOA would have a 3" pattern at 100 yds or approximately 6" at 200 yards. (Multiply the MOA by the yards to get the coverage). Typically these types of units are from 3 to 5 MOA. The smaller the number, the more accurate, but also the reference dot is smaller and therefore harder to see and line up, especially in situations demanding quick action.
The Tactical Holographic sight is a more robust unit that allows a wide field of view to acquire targets, The brightness adjusts in the four different reticles with both red and green displays, Extra open rails allow for you to add other custom accessories. Mounts to Picatinny/Weaver rails. Unit takes one LR1620 battery (included).
Tubeless all metal design Holographic sight with 2mw red laser package. Mounts to Picatinny/Weaver rails. Windage and elevation adjustments on both. 3 to 10 MOA depending on reticle selected. With adjustable brightness the holographic unit has a choice of four reticles in both red and green displays. Unit uses one CR2032 and three AG44 batteries (included).
